Background

Co-founder and CEO of Meta (formerly Facebook). DOJ-released EFTA documents show that in 2015 Epstein's assistant and Zuckerberg's chief of staff exchanged emails to arrange a dinner hosted by Reid Hoffman in Palo Alto, California. The dinner was held at Baume, a two-Michelin-starred Palo Alto restaurant Hoffman had bought out for the occasion, in honor of MIT neuroscientist Ed Boyden.

The full guest list also included Elon Musk, Priscilla Chan, Peter Thiel, and several others. Epstein described the event as "wild" in a subsequent email. Following the dinner, Hoffman sent Epstein and Zuckerberg a joint email connecting them directly so the conversation could continue.

Epstein's assistant noted that Zuckerberg requested Epstein send his contact details. Zuckerberg's chief of staff replied "Noted, with thanks." Meta states that "Mark met Epstein in passing one time at a dinner honoring scientists that was not organized by Epstein" and that Zuckerberg "did not communicate with Epstein again following the dinner." No evidence of a direct personal relationship or further contact has been established, and no allegations of wrongdoing have been made.
