David Geffen is an American billionaire media executive, philanthropist, and co-founder of DreamWorks SKG. He founded Geffen Records (later acquired by MCA/Universal) and Asylum Records, and is a major donor whose name appears on UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine and Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall. Geffen appears in Epstein's black book (EFTA01460685), listed under "Los Angeles" alongside Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and George Lucas, each designated as "Family Office" contacts.
His entry includes phone numbers and a reference to publicist Cheryl Pallor. Multiple St. Barths guest lists compiled for Epstein's social events (EFTA01792909, EFTA00900412) record Geffen as staying "on Roman's boat," a reference to Roman Abramovich's yacht.
These same lists include Ghislaine Maxwell, Larry Gagosian, Lorne Michaels, and other figures in Epstein's social orbit. Hollywood publicist Peggy Siegal, a frequent Epstein correspondent, described having lunch with Geffen aboard his yacht "Rising Sun" in St. Barths on December 25, 2012 (EFTA00646338).
In the same email to Epstein, Siegal wrote that she was attending Ghislaine Maxwell's birthday dinner that evening on a nearby boat called "Akula." In a separate December 2012 email (EFTA02578713), Siegal recounted a dinner party where "David G. made a rare appearance on dry land" alongside Leon Black, Dasha Zhukova, and Sandy Gallin. In emails between Jeffrey Epstein and Boris Nikolic (Bill Gates' science advisor), Geffen's name appears in scheduling and social planning contexts. In July 2011 (EFTA01863215), Epstein wrote to Nikolic: "i am getting to geffen." In September 2012 (EFTA01888905), Nikolic informed Epstein that "Bill is having a small dinner in his home with just David Geffen and me." A separate email (EFTA01776579) shows Nikolic telling Epstein he needed "to get David Geffen to a dinner with Bill." In June 2012 (EFTA01879233), Nikolic's schedule notes listed "Geffen, Wolferson, axel, etc." among a day of meetings.
In August 2017, Siegal told Epstein she could "email David Geffen and call Calvin Klein" for cinema screening room design advice (EFTA00654656). Siegal also referenced attending a screening of the documentary "American Masters: Inventing David Geffen" while corresponding with Epstein (November 2012, EFTA01763881). No allegations of wrongdoing have been made against Geffen in connection with Epstein.
His appearances in the documents reflect social overlap within elite entertainment and philanthropic circles rather than direct involvement in any alleged misconduct.
