Croatian-American immunologist and venture capitalist who served as Chief Science Advisor to Bill Gates and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Nikolic was introduced to Jeffrey Epstein by Melanie Walker, and the two developed a friendship. Nikolic facilitated the first meeting between Bill Gates and Epstein at Epstein's Manhattan townhouse in 2010.
He was controversially named as a fallback executor in Epstein's will, signed just two days before Epstein's death in August 2019 - a designation Nikolic publicly disavowed through a spokesperson, stating he was ‘shocked’ and would not serve. Nikolic later co-founded Biomatics Capital, a healthcare-focused venture capital firm in Seattle. Documents from Dataset 11 confirm Nikolic was in active, friendly communication with Epstein as late as March 2019 - just four months before Epstein's arrest.
In an email dated March 3, 2019 (EFTA02632987), Nikolic wrote to Epstein: "Please let me know when you know. Would love to see you. How are you?" In a related exchange (EFTA02631778), Nikolic shared personnel recommendations with Epstein, discussing a former Google/Apple/Microsoft employee who had previously been a priest.
