Background

Norwegian businessman and politician, CEO of the World Economic Forum and former Norwegian foreign minister (2013-2017). DOJ-released EFTA files show Brende had several business dinners with Epstein and communicated via email and text message. The WEF launched an internal risk committee investigation on February 5, 2026 to clarify the nature of his dealings with Epstein.

RESIGNATION: Resigned as WEF President/CEO on February 26, 2026 after DOJ files revealed three business dinners with Epstein between 2018 and 2019 plus email and text exchanges. The WEF conducted an independent review. Brende stated he "deeply regrets" the association.
