Documents extracted from the Epstein case files reveal a deep, multi-dimensional personal relationship between filmmaker Woody Allen and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein spanning at least nine years; from 2010 through June 2019, ending only with Epstein's arrest. Neighbors and Regular Dinner Companions (2010-2019) Allen and his wife Soon-Yi Previn lived near Epstein on the Upper East Side and began attending dinners at his Manhattan townhouse in 2010, two years after Epstein's 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor.

Multiple accounts and case documents place Allen at a December 2010 dinner alongside Prince Andrew, Chelsea Handler, George Stephanopoulos, Charlie Rose, and Katie Couric (d-18400). Epstein also emailed contacts about dinners with Allen alongside David Blaine and Richard Branson. An undated email in the files has a sender writing to Naomi Campbell: "Jeffrey and I are in Paris with Woody Allen and wondering if you're in town and would like to have dinner with us tomorrow night." The 63rd Birthday Letter (January 2016) In January 2016, Allen sent Epstein a letter for his 63rd birthday that has since become one of the more quoted documents in the files. Allen described Epstein's Manhattan townhouse as resembling "Castle Dracula where Lugosi has three young female vampires who service the place," adding that the house was often staffed by "several young women." He described Epstein's dinner parties as populated by "politicians, scientists, teachers, magicians, comedians, intellectuals, journalists, an entomologist, a concert pianist." The letter; sardonic in Allen's characteristic voice; was written with apparent full knowledge of Epstein's criminal history and the nature of his household (Hollywood Reporter, Aug 2025; Salon, Aug 2025). White House Visit Brokered by Epstein (December 2015) In May 2015, Epstein emailed former White House counsel Kathy Ruemmler asking her to show Soon-Yi the White House, writing: "Could you show soon yi the White House.

I assume woody would be too politically sensitive?" Ruemmler replied that she could host both, though she noted Epstein himself was "too politically sensitive" to be admitted. White House visitor logs confirm that Allen, Previn, and Ruemmler visited on December 27, 2015; a Sunday, while President Obama was in Hawaii. The visit demonstrates that Epstein was actively leveraging his political connections on behalf of Allen and Previn years into his post-conviction period (ABC News, Feb 2026; NBC Washington, Feb 2026).

Mutual Scandal Solidarity and "Witch to Burn" Emails (2016) Emails from 2016 show Epstein, Allen, and Previn commiserating about their respective public scandals. Epstein wrote: "The crowd needs a witch to burn, and there are not many left." Allen, communicating partly through Previn, replied that his situation was "radically different" from Bill Cosby's: "I do expect (and get) many ugly unfair accusations, but he has to battle 50 women and criminal charges." Epstein noted that Allen's negative press was likely tied to the "publicly broken taboo" of his relationship with Previn. Bard College Admission for Daughter Bechet (January 2017) Emails show that Epstein contacted Bard College president Leon Botstein to help secure admission for Allen and Previn's daughter, Bechet Allen. A message dated January 11, 2017; believed written by Previn; thanks Epstein: "I can't thank you enough for getting Bechet into Bard." The sender adds: "I think it's best that Bechet struggles and doesn't know ahead of time that she got in." Bechet Allen did attend Bard and graduated in May 2021. Soon-Yi Previn's Independent Email Relationship with Epstein The DOJ documents reveal that it was often Previn, not Allen directly, who maintained the email correspondence with Epstein. In addition to the Bard and White House emails, Previn sent Epstein a 2016 message defending Anthony Weiner in the context of his sexting scandal with a 15-year-old girl, writing: "I also thought it was disgusting what the 15-year-old did to him. I hate women who take advantage of guys." In 2018, Previn emailed that she was "glad that prick Chalamet's movie did not get a good review," referring to Timothée Chalamet's lead role in Allen's shelved Amazon film "A Rainy Day in New York" (TMZ, Feb 2026; Variety, Feb 2026). iMessage Contact Through June 2019 Allen maintained direct iMessage contact with Epstein through at least June 2019; one month before Epstein's July 8, 2019 arrest.

An iMessage exchange from July 2018 shows Epstein and Allen engaging in dark, absurdist humor about eating "hearts" and "bones," with Epstein writing: "He didn't just cause heartburn, he ate them. Hearts." Allen replied: "Thanks. At least I'm thinner." Epstein: "Because you also eat the bones, providing fibre." The context of the exchange is unclear, though analysts note it is characteristic of the darkly ironic tone of Epstein's personal correspondence (WION News, Feb 2026; IBT, Feb 2026).

Photos: Private Plane with Larry Summers Among the thousands of photos released by the House Oversight Committee is an undated photograph showing Allen, Epstein, and Larry Summers; along with Summers's wife, Harvard professor Elisa New; together on a private airplane. Separately, Epstein brokered a filmed interview between Allen and New for her Harvard poetry project "Poetry in America," with emails showing him coordinating the time and location at Allen's New York City screening room (d-16284, d-18312, d-18790, d-19209). NBC News published the plane photo in early 2026 alongside images of Trump, Clinton, Gates, and Steve Bannon.

Calendar and "Black Book" Listings Allen appears by name in Epstein's private scheduling calendar, disclosed by the Wall Street Journal. He also features in Epstein's personal contact lists alongside heads of state, billionaires, scientists, and entertainment figures. The calendar entries indicate Allen had more frequent scheduled contact with Epstein than was initially apparent from the publicly known "black book" entries alone.

Important Context No evidence in the released documents links Allen to Epstein's trafficking operation or to any victims. Allen has not been accused of involvement in Epstein's sexual abuse of minors. He is not a named party in any civil or criminal case arising from the Epstein investigation.
