Courtney Love (born Courtney Michelle Harrison, 1964) is an American singer-songwriter, actress, and visual artist. She is the frontwoman of the alternative rock band Hole and the widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. Her film work includes The People vs.
Larry Flynt (1996), for which she received a Golden Globe nomination, and Man on the Moon (1999). Love's name appears in Jeffrey Epstein's personal address book with three phone numbers recorded for her. The book was submitted as evidence in multiple civil proceedings and described in court records as containing contact information for politicians, royalty, business executives, and celebrities.
In a 2015 deposition in the Giuffre v. Maxwell litigation, attorney Brad Edwards testified that Love's name was among those circled in the book by former Epstein house manager Alfredo Rodriguez. Rodriguez, who was later arrested by the FBI after attempting to sell the book privately, circled names he believed "had information" relevant to the investigation, describing the circled individuals as people who could help law enforcement identify "bigger fishes" (d-22663).
In the same deposition, an attorney questioning a law enforcement witness confirmed Love's name is circled in the book; the witness stated he did not know who she was "off the top of my head" and could not assess whether she had witnessed sex trafficking. In separate Giuffre v. Maxwell filings, attorney Alan Dershowitz cited Love's circled name alongside Donald Trump, Flavio Briatore, and others to challenge the implication that circled names indicated criminal involvement.
Love issued an early public warning about Epstein. In a 2010 MTV interview, she told young women not to accept limousine rides from him, using language that resurfaced widely after his July 2019 federal arrest on sex trafficking charges. The clip circulated on social media as an example of early awareness within entertainment industry circles.
Love has not publicly disclosed how she came to know about Epstein, and no documentary evidence in the released EFTA files connects their relationship beyond black book contact information. Love was proposed as a panelist for science-culture events organized around Epstein's Origins Project Foundation. A December 2018 email from physicist Lawrence Krauss listed her alongside Joe Perry, Johnny Depp, Lana Del Rey, and Marilyn Manson for a panel titled "Creativity in music vs science." A related "Strange Bedfellows" TV series proposal listed Love, Depp, and Manson discussing musical creativity with Nobel laureates Frank Wilczek and others (efta-02609042, d-19655).
An EFTA document covering the 2011 Cannes Film Festival places Love at an after-party at Cherie Cheri Beach following the premiere of Sean Penn's "This Must Be the Place," where she spoke with other attendees about the film (efta-02690174, efta-efta00296005). A June 2015 Twitter notification forwarded to Epstein's personal email (jeevacation@gmail.com) shows he followed Courtney Love Cobain's Twitter account (efta-efta01198293). Love appears in 28 documents via OCR text analysis and is linked to over 64 documents in the database.
She does not appear on any known Epstein flight logs. No direct email correspondence between Love and Epstein has been identified in the released records. No allegations of wrongdoing in connection with Epstein have been made against her.
