Background

45th and 47th President of the United States. One of the most extensively documented figures in the Epstein case files, with over 3,800 document links in the database. Trump and Epstein moved in overlapping New York and Palm Beach social circles from approximately 1987 through the early 2000s.

In a 2002 New York magazine profile, Trump called Epstein "a terrific guy" and said he was a "fun" person to be around who liked "beautiful women as much as I do." Trump later said he banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago after a member complained Epstein had assaulted her daughter. Flight logs released in the USA v. Maxwell case showed Trump flew on Epstein's aircraft at least once, from Palm Beach to Newark in 1997.

An assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York stated in an email that Trump had flown on Epstein's plane "many more times" than was publicly known. The January 2026 DOJ release of 3.5 million pages references Trump more than 3,000 times across documents. FBI interview summaries in the January 2026 release documented a victim who said Epstein took her to Mar-a-Lago to meet Trump.

The report quoted Epstein telling Trump, "This is a good one, huh." In February 2026, NPR reported that the DOJ had withheld 53 pages of Epstein files mentioning Trump. Among the withheld documents were three FBI interview summaries relating to an allegation that Trump sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in approximately 1983, introduced to him by Epstein. The DOJ released the documents on March 5-10, 2026, after congressional and media pressure.

Officials said the pages were "mistakenly coded as duplicates." As of March 2026, 37 pages remained missing from the public database. Democrats on the House Oversight Committee described the withholding as a potential crime. Trump has denied all allegations.
