After leaving government, Colom became Corporate Secretary and Executive Committee member at the Edmond de Rothschild private banking group (2013-2016), reporting directly to CEO Ariane de Rothschild. Department of Justice. He exchanged hundreds of emails with Epstein from 2013 to at least 2018, with contacts stretching to 2019. Colom sought to facilitate high-level political networking for Epstein, including organizing a 2013 meeting between his Rothschild bank boss and Epstein, brokering introductions to Sultan bin Sulayem of DP World, and arranging contacts with Gulf and African figures.

In one exchange, Epstein wrote that he was on his Caribbean island "with an aquarium full of girls." Colom responded by comparing the place to the palace of the king of Saudi Arabia, commenting "I prefer yours." In a September 2013 email, Colom proposed a meeting with Bruno Le Maire, describing him as a "former minister of Sarkozy and a future candidate to the Presidential election," adding "I'd like to help him raise funds. Any interest?" through Epstein. Colom also appears in EFTA schedule documents alongside Josh Ramo, attending meetings at Epstein's New York residence.
