Background

CEO of the Edmond de Rothschild Group and the first non-Rothschild family member to lead a Rothschild bank. Corresponded dozens of times with Epstein and had more than a dozen meetings over approximately five years before his 2019 arrest and jailing, according to U.S. Department of Justice files.

Her name appears in 4,781 OCR documents across the released EFTA files. Connections between the two began at a professional level in 2013 through Olivier Colom, her then-Corporate Secretary and former Sarkozy adviser. A 2015 agreement shows Epstein's company Southern Trust entered a $25 million agreement with Edmond de Rothschild Holding for "risk analysis" and "application of certain algorithms," signed by de Rothschild.

Email exchanges show a personal familiarity beyond business: in one 2018 exchange, de Rothschild asked "Are u still planning to come to Paris next week?" and mentioned meeting Prince Albert of Monaco "for the bk + prince." In another, Epstein wrote "I hold friendship as my highest value," to which she responded warmly. Johnny El Hachem, CEO of Edmond de Rothschild Private Equity, also appears in 87 documents discussing the bank's infrastructure fund opportunities with Epstein. The bank stated that Ariane de Rothschild met Epstein several times between 2013 and 2019 "in the course of her normal activities within the group" and that she had "no knowledge of Epstein's personal behaviour." In October 2015, de Rothschild signed a $25 million contract with Epstein's Southern Trust Company for "risk analysis and the application and use of certain algorithms." The same Southern Trust entity had funded Carbyne, the Israeli surveillance technology startup.

Epstein had arranged Ehud Barak's participation in the 2014 Herzliya Conference, sponsored by the Rothschild Caesarea Foundation, and used those meetings to pitch a donor-advised fund structure for funneling private capital into Israeli military-tech startups under a tax-deductible umbrella. On February 25, 2026, Bloomberg reported the Edmond de Rothschild board was reviewing de Rothschild's Epstein ties.
