Former MCC correctional officer on duty alongside Tova Noel the night Jeffrey Epstein died on August 10, 2019. Thomas and Noel failed to conduct any count or round of the SHU from approximately 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM, an 8-hour window during which Epstein was found hanged in his cell. Both officers browsed the internet and signed false certifications.
Thomas and Noel were indicted in November 2019 for falsifying prison records. They reached deferred prosecution agreements in May 2021, receiving 6 months supervised release and 100 hours community service in exchange for cooperating with the DOJ Inspector General's investigation into the circumstances of Epstein's death.
