Former U.S. Senate Majority Leader (1989-1995) who appears in six documented flights on Epstein's aircraft between 2000 and 2004, traveling on routes between Teterboro, NJ and Palm Beach, FL. Virginia Giuffre stated in court filings and in her memoir that Mitchell ‘frequently visited Epstein's New York residence’ and described him as ‘very close to Jeffrey’ and ‘very clean-cut.’ A 2003 Vanity Fair profile cited Epstein's admiration for Mitchell as ‘the world's greatest negotiator’ and noted Epstein had written Mitchell ‘a bunch of checks’ and organized a fundraiser for him; Mitchell confirmed this, calling Epstein ‘a friend and a supporter.’ Mitchell appears in Epstein's address book with a work and home telephone number.
A November 2013 Epstein scheduling email references a ‘10:30am Appt w/Senator George Mitchell.’ Giuffre's 2015 lawsuit listed Mitchell as a witness. When court documents were unsealed in January 2024, Mitchell denied all allegations of sexual misconduct through his representatives. He has not been charged with any crime in connection with these matters.
