Partner at Boies Schiller Flexner who served as lead counsel for Virginia Giuffre in her defamation lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell and in related civil litigation. McCawley was instrumental in the multi-year effort to unseal documents filed in the Southern District of New York that ultimately revealed names and details of Epstein associates. She worked closely with David Boies and other Boies Schiller attorneys on behalf of Giuffre across numerous proceedings, including depositions, summary judgment motions, and the enforcement of discovery obligations.
McCawley also represented other Epstein survivors in civil matters and became one of the most recognizable public advocates for victims' rights in the Epstein litigation. She gave extensive media interviews and public statements throughout the proceedings. After the federal government announced its 2019 prosecution of Epstein, McCawley continued to press for accountability for individuals beyond Epstein himself.
She argued before courts and in public forums that the full scope of the trafficking network had not been prosecuted. Her name appears in hundreds of EFTA civil filings, deposition records, and appellate documents related to the Giuffre-Maxwell litigation.
