Former wife of Prince Andrew who accepted a payment of 15,000 pounds from Jeffrey Epstein in 2010 to help pay off debts. In April 2012, she publicly apologized for taking the money and called it a gigantic error of judgment. Ferguson received only approximately 475,000 dollars in her 1996 divorce settlement after declining to sign a confidentiality clause, giving up an estimated 8.6 million dollar payout in exchange for retaining the right to write about her royal life.
The financial pressures following the divorce left her in repeated debt. Communications in the DOJ files indicated a continued relationship with Epstein after her 2012 public apology. Appeared in Epstein black book.
In March 2026, newly released Epstein DOJ files revealed the full extent of her private relationship with Epstein. The documents showed Ferguson repeatedly sought financial help from Epstein, asking to borrow 50,000 to 100,000 dollars for bills and inquiring whether Epstein could employ her as a house assistant. The files also revealed that even after Ferguson publicly tied Epstein to pedophilia in a media interview, she privately sent him apologetic messages, referring to him in correspondence as her spectacular and special friend and telling him she was proud of him while he was serving jail time in 2008.
The documents showed Ferguson continued to shower Epstein with praise despite his 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor. Her ex-husband Prince Andrew was arrested February 19, 2026 on suspicion of misconduct in public office connected to the Epstein case.
