Background

Florida Governor (2019-2025) and former U.S. Representative. As Governor, DeSantis signed SB 1614 in 2023, requiring the release of Palm Beach County grand jury records related to Epstein's 2006 case - documents that had been sealed for over 16 years.

The grand jury testimony revealed that prosecutors had sufficient evidence to charge Epstein with more serious crimes but opted for the controversial plea deal negotiated by then-U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta. DeSantis also empaneled a statewide grand jury in 2022 to investigate Epstein-related matters.

Previously served as a JAG officer in the U.S. Navy. His actions as Governor were instrumental in bringing transparency to the Epstein case in Florida.
