Background

Insurance executive and former vice chairman of Aon Group, one of the world's largest insurance brokerage and risk advisory firms. Meister met Jeffrey Epstein in the mid-1980s on a flight from New York to Palm Beach. Epstein's black book lists Meister on page 76 with ten phone numbers and three addresses, one of the more extensive entries in the book.

Critically, Meister was the person who introduced Epstein to Leslie Wexner, the billionaire founder of L Brands and Victoria's Secret, around 1990. That introduction led directly to Wexner appointing Epstein as the head of Wexner Investment Co., his de facto family office, granting Epstein broad power of attorney and access to his finances. Epstein later swindled Wexner out of what Wexner described as "vast sums." Meister and Epstein subsequently had a falling out, though Wexner helped Meister's son Todd Meister launch a hedge fund with a substantial investment.

The introduction to Wexner is considered one of the most consequential connections in the entire Epstein network.
