Background

Chief Financial Officer of Leon Black's family office who served as a key intermediary between Apollo Global Management staff and advisors handling Black's personal finances. DOJ-released emails show Joslin sought Jeffrey Epstein's advice on tax projections, Apollo cash flow analysis, intercompany note payable structures, and their projected impact on cash taxes and TRA amortization. Joslin's communications with Epstein reflect the broader arrangement in which Black paid Epstein a total of $158 million to $170 million between 2012 and 2017, according to the Dechert report and Senate Finance Committee findings respectively.

Epstein was neither a licensed tax attorney nor a certified public accountant. Senate investigators questioned whether the payments represented compensation for services or a taxable gift. Joslin's role illustrates how deeply Epstein was embedded in the operational finances of Black's personal wealth structure.

No allegations of criminal conduct have been made against Joslin directly.
