Background

U.S. Secretary of Commerce (2025-present) and former Chairman and CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald. Documents show Lutnick and Epstein were in business together through a company called Adfin as late as 2012-2014, years after Epstein's 2008 conviction.

In 1996, Epstein sold a property at 11 East 71st Street that became Lutnick's primary residence next door to Epstein's mansion. Lutnick interacted ‘regularly’ with Epstein per DOJ files, with correspondence through intermediaries in 2011-2012. ISLAND VISIT (CONFIRMED UNDER OATH): A December 2012 email chain documents planning for a visit to Epstein's island.

Lutnick personally emailed Epstein asking for GPS coordinates so his yacht captain could navigate to Little Saint James. Epstein's staff scheduled lunch on ‘JE's island’ for December 22 or 23, with Allison Lutnick copied on correspondence. At a Senate hearing in early 2026, Lutnick confirmed the visit under oath, stating it lasted "about an hour for lunch" and that he was accompanied by his wife, another couple, and their children.

Epstein's assistant confirmed the visit in records reviewed by investigators. A photograph showing Lutnick on the island was briefly removed from DOJ files before being restored. CONGRESSIONAL TESTIMONY: On March 3, 2026, Lutnick appeared before the House Oversight Committee about his Epstein ties, having volunteered to testify after weeks of mounting pressure.

In February 2026 he admitted the December 2012 island visit, contradicting his prior public claim of having cut all ties with Epstein in 2005. DOJ files show communication and business dealings continued well after that date. Congressional lawmakers called for his resignation from the Commerce Secretary post.

Lutnick previously stated he vowed to ‘never be in a room with that disgusting person ever again’ after a 2005 meeting with Epstein.
