Darrin Howard served as Regional Counsel for the Federal Bureau of Prisons at the time of Jeffrey Epstein's death at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York in August 2019. He is identified in a 2020 FOIA declaration filed in the New York Times Company v. Federal Bureau of Prisons (Case 1:20-cv-00833) as one of the BOP staff members whose emails were searched in response to the Times' request for records related to Epstein's custody, suicide watch, and death.
