Background

Former Vice President of the United States under President George H.W. Bush from 1989 to 1993, and former U.S. Senator from Indiana from 1981 to 1989.

After leaving the vice presidency, Quayle joined Cerberus Capital Management in 1999, serving as Chairman of Cerberus Global Investments and a member of the firm's senior leadership. Cerberus, founded by Stephen Feinberg who was later named as Deputy Secretary of Defense in the Trump administration, appears in approximately 360 documents within the Epstein files. Emails from 2009 and 2013 in the files show Epstein maintaining a business relationship with Cerberus, and a 2015 email exchange between Epstein and business associate Andrew Farkas references funds received from Cerberus.

The Project on Government Oversight reported these financial ties in March 2026. Quayle is also named on the DOJ's 305-name list of politically exposed persons identified in the released files. The extent of his personal knowledge of any Cerberus-Epstein dealings is not established in the public record.
