Background

South Florida attorney and former U.S. Army paratrooper who became a lead legal advocate for Jeffrey Epstein survivors, ultimately representing over 50 victims. Edwards began his involvement in 2008 when he was retained by two of Epstein victims to challenge the secret Non-Prosecution Agreement negotiated by Alexander Acosta office.

He filed a landmark lawsuit (Doe v. United States) arguing the NPA violated the Crime Victims Rights Act by excluding victims from the process. In February 2019, U.S.

District Judge Kenneth Marra ruled in Edwards favor, finding the government had violated the rights of victims, though the ruling came too late to void the NPA. Edwards partnered with co-counsel Paul Cassell and Brittany Henderson to sustain litigation during the years when federal prosecution appeared stalled. He co-authored the 2020 book Relentless Pursuit: My Fight for the Victims of Jeffrey Epstein.

Edwards and David Boies obtained a 290 million dollar settlement from JPMorgan Chase in 2023 and a 75 million dollar settlement from Deutsche Bank the same year, on behalf of Epstein survivors. In 2024, the UCF Center for the Study of Human Trafficking awarded Edwards the Polaris Star Award: Agents for Change alongside Tim Tebow for his contributions to seeking justice for trafficking victims. In January 2026, following the DOJ mass release of Epstein documents, Edwards and Henderson wrote to the presiding judge requesting immediate intervention after thousands of instances in which the government failed to redact the names and personally identifying information of women sexually abused by Epstein.

A deal was subsequently reached between victims lawyers and the DOJ to protect the identities of approximately 100 women affected by the redaction failures. Edwards law firm is now called Edwards Henderson.
