Background

Canadian technology entrepreneur and co-founder of Blockstream, a Bitcoin infrastructure company. Hill is a former CEO of Montreal-based privacy software company Zero-Knowledge Systems. DOJ-released Epstein files show Hill corresponded directly and frequently with Epstein in 2014 and 2015 regarding Blockstream's $21 million seed round, in which Epstein invested approximately $500,000 through Kyara Investments III, a vehicle co-owned with former MIT Media Lab director Joi Ito.

Hill emailed Ito and Epstein explaining the allocation had been increased despite the round being ten times oversubscribed. Separate email exchanges between Hill and Epstein included social communication that went beyond the investment relationship. Hill's emails discussing "pretty girls" in Epstein-adjacent correspondence generated significant coverage in early 2026 following the DOJ document release.

Hill subsequently left Blockstream. Blockstream stated that Epstein's financial stake was divested after a few months.
