Background

Canadian-American entrepreneur who founded Seed magazine in 2001 and built Seed Media Group into an influential science-focused media company that operated ScienceBlogs, a network of over 80 science writers. In 2005, Jeffrey Epstein invested approximately million in Seed Media Group. Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were reported to have held board-level positions at Seed Media Group.

Bly appears in 2,291 documents in the DOJ-released Epstein files. The company later closed its print publication in 2012 and wound down ScienceBlogs in 2017. Bly subsequently held senior data roles at Spotify and later founded System, a public benefit corporation focused on data and knowledge organization.
